KIT: 156742 Surname “BURNS”

KIT: 177206 John Hill was born between 1760-1770 in Pennsylvania (?). John married Rebecca Semans (or Simmons, or Simons), abt 1799. Rebecca was born 1777 in Kent County, Maryland. John died in 1850 in Marshall Township, Highland County, Ohio, and Rebecca died between 1850-1860 in Highland County, Ohio (?). John and Rebecca had 11 children: Samuel, John, Hannah Beason, Martha “Patsy,” Elizabeth, William, Stephen, Ellen (Eleanor), Jane, Simon, and Mary. We believe John Hill lived in East Bethlehem Township, Washington County, PA. That he bought a 60 acre farm from George Rigdon in 1790, which was called “Springfield.” John was probably the brother of Joseph Hill, who lived on the 353 acre farm next to him on the west side (called Hillsborough, 1788-9). The farm to the east of John Hill was owned by Zephaniah Beale, called Cider Drinking, and was rented to Simon Simmons (Semans), a carpenter, and Samuel Scott. John Hill married Simon’s sister Rebecca around 1797-99. From there the family moved to Ohio.
We are trying to find out the names of John Hill’s parents, which I hope will link John with the Hill’s of Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania.
